Just to remember this, Lacrimosa isn't a front female metal band. Wink
Tilo is the singer, Anne is only making some backing vocals ...

For headliners, choice is very limited, especially when bands are making a break or stop etc ... Rolling Eyes

The ratio male/female vocals is about the same as in Trail of Tears, and they played 2 years in a row now at the festival ... I'm sure Lacrimosa can do an Anne Nurmi friendly set Very Happy

About the headliners, I guess that's the problem with an extreme niche festival like this ,but can you blame me from being tired of seeing the same group over and over again. Smile

Many bands have this problem. December last year I was at a concert of Lahannya in Hamburg. There are about 40 viewers, and not only fans from Lahannya but also from the opther bands. And Lahannya has played a famous gig. And she has had many fun.

I have 2 CD's from Draconian and I like this music. It was nice, if I can see them live. Perhaps in Wieze?

Since the begining, their never really announced a female singer, this one was always different ... I'm not sure that they even considered them as a metal female band Rolling Eyes

Draconian again would be great. I really love their style of music. Glad to see Revamp are coming now as Floor has confirmed on her Twitter.

Battlelore seem very variable. Seen them in small venues when they were great, but at the Bloodstock festival last year they were absolutely awful - probably the worst performance of the entire festival. Ok some of it was sound problems but they just didnt seem to be very good that day.

I'd love to see Pythia at MFVF - www.myspace.com/pythiamusic
Other bands I'd love to see at MFVF would include Within Temptation, Sirenia, Holy Moses. So much choice for female fronted metal these days, but still only a fairly small number of bands big enough to headline MFVF.

Two other great female fronted bands that are on the more extreme side of things, who both have records out on Ibex Moon Records:

Dreaming Dead (http://www.myspace.com/dreamingdead )
Estuary (http://www.myspace.com/estuary )

Has anybody already heard of Ultimus Sacratum? It is a Finnisch Goth metal band.

It should be the new name, since november 2009, of Tears Of Magdalena, with a new female singer, but also a opera soprano. ( any resemblance to existing groups or female singer is 'pure coïncidence' Laughing )

Worth listening to, not yet for head or co-headliner, but for those who prefer the harder work: http://www.myspace.com/ultimussacratum

This year, they make a new album.

Other groups I would like to see:
Xandria
Theatre Des Vampyres
Beseech
Draconian
Echoes Of Eternity
Inkubus Sukkubus ( hardly posible that nobody mentioned them yet) http://www.myspace.com/inkubussukkubus certainly listening worthwile - Vampyre style
Sirenia
Tarja ( but she already sings at Graspop)

I have to think about my signature. I want to do it right. Untill then you have to accept this one.

Yeah, Pythia is a nice suggestion! And why don't you try... Omega Lithium? They are so cool that I've spent three or four days listening to their "Dreams in Formaline" album only (that's a pity they have only this one so far Crying or Very sad ) and doing virtually nothing else!
