Leaves' Eyes as explained before was a special guest, with a big show. Impossible to place them at another place.
But in fact, they didn't disappoint people I think Wink
At MFVF3 they finally played as headliner on side stage (instead playing on the big one, in the middle).

Folk : some like, other dislike ... well take time to have a drink, eat at that moment.
Booking different style is important, otherwise you'll be bored to always see "gothic metal" bands Laughing

Note that it's really hard to build a good line up with all these bands taking a break Rolling Eyes
Hoping now that AF will be back ...

I'm just wondering to what extent those different styles can go.

Do you consider a posibility for a band like Haggard to perform at the MFVF one day?
I know they might be a bit 'different' and not everyone might like them, but I think there would be lots of people who'd really like to see them on the mfvf (including me :p).
Another band I'd really, really, really like to see one day is Therion. Although mfvf 7 won't be possible, maybe there's a possibility for 2010?
One can only keep hoping Wink

Edit: Just noticed I missed 2 pages of posting the last few days. Hadn't seen the posts about Therion yet. I'm glad they're considered though Smile
Maybe one day...

Trail of Tears for sure. Last year's show was the first time I saw them live, and they were just fantastic!
Other than that... Leaves' Eyes, I just love them. Epica as well, but those are both names which have already been given in this topic.

A dutch band: Elexorien - http://elexorien.com/ - http://www.myspace.com/elexorienband
--> I adore these guys, they sound awesome. They haven't got any shows booked yet (as far as I know), so maybe you could give it a try?

A belgian powerfolk band: Angeli Di Pietra - http://www.angeli-di-pietra.com/ - http://www.myspace.com/angelidipietra
They're releasing their newest album in a few months, so a performance at MFVF VII would be perfect!

Unsun is great. 'The End Of Life' really rocks!

I know that Elexorien has once toured with Kivimetsän Druidi in Finland. They're kind of similar genre. Very good band, too.

Keep your mind open and you'll find loads of great bands and music out there!

The idea was for Midnattsol, as they didn't play.

They deserve a place more than DSO, for the reason Helcanen just said. PErsonally I like them more too, so yeey! Very Happy
Unsun too, one of my suggestions (I know the band a bit)!! Beautiful, this edition is going to be good again! Already have my ticket (x-mas) ^^
