I've also heard Virus IV band (of magali luten) is quite rough (not my cup of tea though)

And of course DSO, mmm and maybe Draconian too

Flowing tears are good _ Wall of Jericho is an idea I should have given _ And of course Akphaezya (But there must be a problem, the orga don't talk of them...) Sad _ Coronatus, I don't know.

Yesterday, I went out to buy the new Coronatus record and I must say, they are amazing and a real must-have for the Metal Female Voices Fest (maybe for the second day, to keep the mixture of genres?)

I'd like to suggest also

SISTER SIN (SLEAZY/HARD ROCK FROM SWEDEN)

ACID KING (DOOM/STONER FROM USA)

amazing bands, an a good choice for making a fest not just with "gothic" stuff

Most people that come to MFVF like gothic, that's even mostly why they come, because of the gothic sphere, so why hold back on gothic bands, Ruben? That will only result in people not coming anymore Wink It's not like non-gothic people will come because of 1 or 2 non-gothic bands they wanna see are on stage, that's too much money for just the 2 bands they'd want to see (example).

Can't agree with this enough... I like bands like Arch Enemy, etc. but there's not much difference between a male-fronted death metal band and a female-fronted death metal band. Likewise, not much difference between band like Sister Sin and another sleeze-rock band.

Well, I don't think that MFVF should be more Gothic or Death or Black, it's "METAL" and "Female Fronted", so it opens a wide door on what we could see !
As example, in this forum, there are people that love Within Temptation and Arch Enemy, while others love Nightwish but not Epica. The only points is to have good bands, and not to see the same each years.

Yes, you are right.
People called this fest "gothic metal", but in fact, as you said, it's written Metal female.
Mixing the styles, but keeping a big part for gothic metal is something that most of the visitors are asking.

I surely like have some variety like, last year we got folk (midnattsol), avant-garde opera (DSO), electro (L'ame immortelle) and the previous years doom (Draconian). Even if I'm not fan of some of these styles its always nice to hear something different, you never know, you might actually like it Wink

Even the so-called "gothic" bands aren't much of the same
What do Autumn, Epica, After Forever, Leaves Eyes and Flowing Tears have in common?
