Thanks! i think we ought to end this discussion here because the whole has been moved into the proper section.
So here's my last comment: i'm listening to the songs right now and i agree with you. though she has a good voice for her age (but who knows who sings what since there was also another woman singing/playing flute?). let's also consider that the music isn't the best in the world, so maybe in the meanwhile she has improved and with visions she'll sound better!

Hi all. My names Dave and I'm a Street teamer for a UK band called SOLSIKK.

The band features 2 Ex-Biomechanical members Chris Webb (guitars) and Matt C. (Drums).

They've recently uploaded new tracks to their Myspace http://www.myspace.com/solsikk and have had a report on Blabbermouth http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=113460

I think they would be an awesome choice for the festival, but please check out their Myspace and make up your own mind.

Thanks for reading!

You should ask Kells and Eths to come back this year because they would bring a lot of french people! And Kells are releasing a new album in february Smile

that would be a great idea, but once again (my opinion), doing this in a special project like I saw at 'Christmas Metal Symphony' would be great. All female bandmembers singing/playing duets with a fix band.
For example:
- guitars: Mark (Epica) and Sander (AF)
- bass: Marco (Nightwish) / Birgit (Midnattsol)
- drums: Sander (Delain)
- keys: Oliver (Kamelot + Doro)

vocalists: Floor (AF) + Simone (Epica) + Doro + Sabina (Holy Moses) + Liv (Leaves' Eyes) + Carmen (Midnattsol) + Anette/(+)Tarja ^^ + Charlotte (Delain) + Ailyn (Sirenia) + etc.
Combining this with 1 fix male vocalist like Roy Khan would be excellent. Like this, we have Roy who does the clean vocals, Mark and Sander who do the grunts together and Marco who does the additional vocals.

I think, if this could be an idea for the upcoming edition of MFVF, the preparations for this should start within this month. Or if this takes more time, maybe it's an idea for the 8th edition?

Just think about this and imagine how the stage would look like, with all these fabolous people on stage, with fire and pyro and a beautiful background. Maybe the entire second day could be reduced to an amazing evening like this (or as a lead-in to the second day).

Not a bad idea, but as some bands aren't available for the fest this year (tour, break etc ...), performance of their singer/members is quite impossible Confused

Also, all these members have to meet a few times to prepare this kind of show .... more easy when they live in same country, but for others, they have to be free at same time etc ... never impossible of course, but this is a hard job for them Wink

True, that was the same idea for the Metal Christmas Symphony. There, all band members got to meet the week before the event. So they had one week to practise everything.
There was one 'leader' (Joost from AF). He had to keep contact with the bandmembers which songs would be played (as they could choose for themselves which song they were going to perform). So everything was arranged through e-mail months before the event. Then, during that one week they came together for the very first time (some a bit later, because, as you mentioned, not everyone was available in time). The finishing touch then was for the day itself, where rehearsing started from the early morning. I think, if something like does could be done at MFVF, it might be good to let the rehearsing start the day the building of the stage begins. Then, there could be rehearsed in the 'small' hall, until the stage is ready. And at last, all props could be added to the stage and the members could also rehearse there. This could be called 'Metal Female Voices Fest - grand ouverture', followed by the second day, a day with a familiar MFVF schedule. Would be great for a dvd edition Very Happy
You see I keep dreaming, though I think this is doable Okay

Oops, must have missed that one. Really sad news. Even without any goodbye show Crying or Very sad
But hell, life goes on. Though, it is an unfortunate loss of a potential headliner.
