Their truely original and their wishmaster cover is awesome.

Isn't that an oxymoron?

No. Original instrumentation (a capella), awesome cover (Wishmaster) and own songs (Speed of Light, The Mission).

They are currently in the studio recording their next album, so now is the time
to get them on the MFVF stage Wink
(please, don't say 'again' or anything like that. Epica just IS a great band and
they perfectly fit the festival)

LEAVE'S EYES will be in the US in September/October !

THE GATHERING is NOT interested to play in the middle of goth bands, that's their view, not ours.
A goth band was like last year L'AME IMMORTELLE, all the others are not goth, but melodic, symphonic, heavy, death...

They ask too much money and don't see their advantage to play.
It seems that in their mind they still THE GATHERING...BUT for us, even it's a name, it's a new band, a new start, and nobody can say they'll like it.

See what happened with Nightwish and TARJA, it's the same than TG and Anneke.
Both are the real voices of these bands !
Pity for them but we don't want to increase our offer and YOUR ticket price (especially this year with the world crisis).

so why do you have them in the poll?
if there is no chance of them playing I would have voted for Tristania

Their booker told us that he was interested to get them at MFVF 7.
But now, when he sent the offer to the band they were not interested to play with gothic bands Shocked

I don't really understand Confused

I'm sorry to say that but you are wrong
The Gathering have the largest history behind them and you can't delete it and think of them as they are a new band
Same with Nightwish, when Tarja left, they are still Nightwish, people like them and DON'T forget their history, that should be done with The Gathering too. Treated like a band that starts now is at least an insult for their 17 years work

But with The Gathering, we haven't heard anything from the new singer, and to book now might be a mistake, because the new singer could be a complete failure (unlikely though it is).
Even so, it is a shame, I would have liked to see them, but there are other bands on that poll I prefer...

I'm also wondering if there's gonna be a new poll? As Frozen-Me said, people who did vote TG would probably vote something different, but then It does seem like alot of hassle...

@ DisturbedMe - That would be Awesome, with the new (well, not so new anymore) album Very Happy

Yes that's right.
Anneke was their front member, so when you replace someone like this, it's like a new start.
And especially when you don't even know who is replacing her, and didn't hear any new song.
To be honest we tried to get TG, because people asked for them, but if they always change their mind, we can't do more.
Confused

Reminder : First, they don't want to perform anymore with Metal bands because their style wasn't Metal (Trip hop), after they saw that it was a mistake and came back to big Metal festivals, after they have a new singer, and now they don't want to perform with "gothic bands" ... (bands are not gothic, but well it's what people said)

Nightwish isn't so appreciated now without Tarja, even if they still have a strong fan base. I mean when they perform live.
Some disliked Tarja, but some dislike Annette.
Annette is a good singer, but not for the old songs. Her voice is more pop.
Proof is that their gig in Brussels isn't sold out (far from that following what we heard) Confused

Mmm, I like Annette, I think she's got a great voice and a great personality, but I wouldn't want to see Nightwish live for that reason, the old songs just don't sound right, Annette and Tarja are so different. Maybe in the future, when there is more material written for Annette Smile
