Nightwish isn't so appreciated now without Tarja, even if they still have a strong fan base. I mean when they perform live.
Some disliked Tarja, but some dislike Annette.
Annette is a good singer, but not for the old songs. Her voice is more pop.
Proof is that their gig in Brussels isn't sold out (far from that following what we heard) Confused

I think that also has to do with the fact that they played in the Lotto Arena in Antwerp and at Rock Werchter last year. To sell out 3 huge venues in 2 years time seems simply unrealistic.
I'm going to their gig in Brussels last week, and that'll be the only show I'll see from the DPP tour. Now, if Tarja would still be in the band, I'd defenitely go 3 times. But not with Annette...

But this is all off-topic.

sorry but for me Delain are not a co-headliner, they are just another medium WT-copycat band with just two albums; nothing exceptional, nothing big
for a co-headliner even tristania would be more worthy, or even ToT

Btw, I can tell you with certanty and with risking my loyalty to the band (The Gathering) that people who loved Anneke and their music around How to mesure a planet will totally like The West Pole

It was never sais that Delain would be a co-headliner Wink
We gave a list of bands at least a little bit famous and more for others, to see which we can choose to finalize the Saturday and Sunday bill.

I don't really understand Confused

I don't understand either. So I guess what The Gathering is saying is that they don't want to play the fest but if you give them enough money they will? And that would mean we would have to pay more money to see a band that doesn't even want to be there. Question

Unfortunately it seems to be that ...
We organized 2 gigs for them a few years ago.
There is 1 member who wasn't really easy, others were so kind and especially Anneke, so maybe because of 1 person, not the whole band I think. Rolling Eyes

We are busy now to discuss with other bands' agents, but some are taking a lot of time to answer Confused

Ouch that is so sad, I believe the member must be Hans, he is always a bit uptight
I co-organized their gig here is greece and everything worked out smoothly
Otherwise, 2-3 more euros in a ticket wouldn't be that much problem, since the fest now lacks some big names on the bill

But as Slayer2525 said, paying more for a band that doesn't want to come ... Motivation is important to give a great show, if they are not motivated, you'll feel it for sure !

Yes of course, i agree. I was talking if there wasn't a case of not wanting to play among goth bands

It seems to be the case, so ... Rolling Eyes

Someone did hear the new The Agonist songs ? They completly changed their style, so I'm wondering if this involves their music ?
As they were listed for MFVF7 (however, we didn't get any news from their agent Evil or Very Mad ), we are curious ...

That is exactly my point. If the band doesn't want to be there and is doing it only for the money then the show suffers as do the fans who paid more to see them. I would rather see money spent on a band that really want to play at the fest. I'm just glad someone understood what I was trying to say Smile

That's why we didn't start to bid on their fee.

We are not far to confirm Sunday headliners now, so festival will takes place on 2 days.

I have their new cd, its great, a lot better than the previous
music style hasn't changed, some songs have a gothic touch though and sometimes Alyssa uses her clean voice a bit more
Much heavier but also much more accesible
