The Saturday headliner will be announced at the end of June !
We can't and don't want to announce them right now, due to an agreement with a partner of us, a contract, and it rest to arrange a lot of technical stuffs.

It isn't necessary to talk about the names you wanna see at MFVF 7.
You'll learn in June which band will perform at MFVF 7.
Until the name still not OFFICIALLY announced on MFVF's website, nobody will know.

If we can't keep the name secret until June, we'll have problems, and we'll risk to miss a nice show !

Thanks

^^ Okay Now everyone. ssssshhhhhh and keep it zipped ok. Cannot and would not want to get MFVF team into trouble and what will hopefully turn out to be an awesome show for us. So everyone keep patient and it isn't that long until June is it? (Oh by the way I know who it is!!!!!! it is ............... Shocked Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Bannir Nah I aint got a clue really. Maybe the Cheeky Girls Laughing

Haha! I would actually pay money to see the Cheeky Girls go Metal!
On a side note, some live videos of Sirenia with Ailyn (quality isn't amazing): http://www.darkside.ru/report/3872/
Scroll about 2/3 of the way down the page to see them Smile
I personally think she did better on the NDAAD songs than anything else!

On the other hand I think that she screwed all songs but she is exactly what Sirenia need. A hot chick! Since all their songs are full of samples, it doesn't really make a difference in live shows which voice is there. I still believe the best Sirenia girl was Henrieke, her voice was kinda delicate, far from strong

^^ couldn't agree more Andrew.
Unfortunately since the so called "performance" at MFVF5 I have kind of gone off them. Lets hope that the performance at MFVF7 will be much much better.

Let us not condemn Sirenia so quickly for using samples nor for a so-called weak live show.

First, many very talented bands use samples in concert. It is the only way they can maintain the essence of their music without touring with a choir or orchestra. Some examples: Epica & Within Temptation.

Also, remember that for the most part Sirenia is a one-man show, Morten Veland. Thus the vocalist and other live members of Sirenia should never be too heavily (no pun intended) considered when it comes to judging them live. The other live band members were likely not present for the creative process of the songs they have to play live, therefore, they may lack the level of motivation found in a band that composes their music as a group or at the least records the studio tracks. Admittedly this is not easy to ignore, but for me, seeing Morten and whatever musicians he has chosen to represent his art live would more than allow me to overlook these things.

Sirenia is a strong studio entity. I love it all and appreciate Morten's ability to write dark, melodic and powerful music. We should be grateful he decides to share his music with us live.

last time he shared it with us (f.e MFVF5) wasn't too convincing. Even if its a one-man show as you say, we only heard a very bit of him (new songs have very few grunts) and we were only hearing the choir from the tape. At least a singer who sings-along with the choir sampleS (like simone or sharon) would be of course much better than one who just stands there. Otherwise we could stay at home and hear their cd
But I hope that they will change that although my preferences now are far from their music

Well I guess my perceptions are a bit biased as I will just be pleased to see Sirenia in live form altogether Wink Their touring of the US is well... nonexistent. But yes having the choirs/effects reproduced by a laptop, minidisc or whatever is not as exciting, but I'd say that's the reality of the metal world - it just costs too much to do that sort of thing each performance and in reality is just impractical Smile I won't be able to judge though until I see it live. For the most part the bands I've seen with pre-recorded stuff in the background for vocals didn't bother me at all; I just concentrate on the live performances and overall experience as that's the best part for me anyway! The only thing I've ever missed is when a band does not have a live keyboardist when their music prominently features one on the cd...

For some reason at MFVF5 Sirena didn't seem to care. The female was worse for wear. Too many coca colas if you know what I mean. This is supposed to be a way of selling the band to others who may not know them that well. Unfortunately that time they didn't. However fortunately for me I knew of Sirena before MFVF5. However as I have mentioned there performance that night spoilt it for me. However the cd is quite good and hopefully this time the band will shine.
