Really cannot wait myself now.

Don't forget, all VIPs must go to the desk, otherwise, no backstage pass can be given.

I also heard the same. From what I understand the first song on the new cd has a choir on it so maybe there will be one Andrew. Really looking forward to it now. Also the new cd should be out in a couple of days so will hopefully be able to pick it up (and maybe get signed at the festival?)
Also don't forget that Lahannya has a new cd coming out too.

The band said that there won't be a choir, unfortunately

Interview with Yves from Epica with one of the biggest Belgian radio stations.
The interview is mainly about the Metal Female Voices Fest (Dutch only, sorry).

Great edition! I especially like the second day, first day no major surprises unlike last year for me. My top 3: Doro, Trail of Tears and Deadlock! Also liked Tarja this year and especially her drummer Mike Terrana, incredible Very Happy

Btw could we get a full list of the awards plz? I only heard a few (Leaves' Eyes dvd, Doro best career, Van Canto best newcomer).

Couple of bands that I wasn't too fond about on CD, turned out to be actually amazing/weird:

PDP: visual kei meets punk-metal. During the soundcheck it sounded like the frontwoman was simulating an orgasm. Immortal dialogue: "We are very great to be here. We love to play all over you". A career in prostitution in the future for the singer?

Unsun (feat. Mauser, ex-Vader, Dies Irae): Aya's vocals aren't as nearly as annoying as on their CD "The End Of Life", which they played pretty much completely. Mauser is still a masterful guitarist.

Kivimetsän Druidi: I reacted quite lukewarm to their CD "Shadowheart". Bombastic folk/pagan metal with fast black metal parts and almost death metal riffing. The war-paint is pretty ridiculous, but the chick singer's rack made up for that. Powerful stuff, ideal to handbang to.

Flowing Tears: Heavy live, too flat and sterile on cd. Their latest album "Thy Kingdom Gone" is pretty dark for the genre's usual standards. Helen Vogt has a mean rasp as well, go front a mean death/black metal band, girl.

Amberian Dawn: Finland can do no wrong. Speedy neo-classical power metal with Finnish folk melodies and soaring operatic vocals. Heidi is my new favorite female vocalist. Nice choice from old and new material: 'Valkyries', 'Fate Of the Maiden', 'He Sleeps In A Grove', 'My Only Star', 'Kokko, Eagle Of Fire', 'Shallow Waters', 'River Of Tuoni' and 'Incubus' were played.

Krypteria: I love their vocalist a long time now.

Midnattsol: Carmen-Elise had a cold/infection and needed a boyfriend, as she was constantly referring to the audience as "all you guys". Nice robe, though.

Epica: live show, pyrotechnics, fire play & Simone Simons.

Second day:

To-Mera: my personal favorite and Julie is a goddess. Great choice of material played from their new self-released EP, plus material from their two Candlelight Records released albums "Transcendental" & "Delusions".

The guy that yelled/growled out when Julie was announcing their old song "Blood" - well, that was me. Love the blonde merch girl they brought along, very helpful and friendly.

The big HD screen & camera crew filming every performance was great. Bring it back in future editions.

Another + for the band Elis (Last.fm link)

Other bands I would love to see:

- Lullacry (Last.fm link

- Mandragora Scream Last.fm link

- Jack off Jill (Last.fm link)

- This is an odd one but certainly one I would love to see. Ed & Denyze Alleyne-Johnson (Denyze will be the vocals Ed will do the violin) Ed Alleyne-Johnson is one of the most unique violin players I've ever seen with a great style I think would fit just perfectly with MFVF and with Denyze on the vocals you have a great show. The last.fm link for the duo is -> here <-- and the one for Ed is --> here <--

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Can someone please post Flowing Tears' setlist? I'd love to know what they played.
