Yes, the label sent us so much. We asked a few to make win to the audience too, but we never expected to get this kind of promo ...
When we launch contests, cd's are full albums whitout speaking people even if this is a cardboard promo Laughing

Yes this happened. I explained (before and on the forum) that the first edition was a small one, and the posters were printed in small format A3, so a kind color photocopy. Even if this is a small one, this is the original as it was never printed again.
I thought it was clear ...

So, I stop my off topic ... I should opened a section for that Very Happy

Akphaezya
DSO (awesome set even though it was so short)
Therion (why not?they have equal female and male voices, even more female than Trail of tears)
Dejafuse
Penumbra
Virus IV

BANDS ONLY HAVE TO SEND US THEIR REQUESTS + CD'S +BIO + PICS....
ALL THE INFORMATIONS THEY NEED CAN BE FIND ON OUR OFFICIAL WEBSITE (page : bands appliance) !
We'll take care about all (cd's presentation, pics, and of course music).

I know, that's why I e-mailed Bergtatt tellling them what they have to do, if they want to play at MFVF. The reason why I posted the link to their myspace-page was just to give people who might be interested a chance to check out their music. (I know you were just addressing people posting myspace-links in general and not me in particular.)

By the way, could it be that when you write "appliance" you actually mean "application"? I suppose most people will guess from the context what you actually mean, but maybe you'd like to change it nevertheless. (The word appliance does exist, but in this context it doesn't seem to make much sense.)

Mainly smaller bands would not be such a great idea, I think. For the upcoming edition,
I think it's best to do a 50-50 bill of well-known bands and 'smaller' bands. In this way, the 5th edition was (almost) perfectly in balance.

Like this (it's just the perfect dream bill):

WELL-KNOWN (read: sometimes more expensive) BANDS:
- WITHIN TEMPTATION
- EVANESCENCE
- AFTER FOREVER
- EPICA
- ARCH ENEMY
- LEAVES' EYES
- DORO

'SMALLER' BANDS:
- AMBERIAN DAWN
- ANIMAL ALPHA
- MIDNATTSOL
- STREAM OF PASSION
- SIRENIA
- DEADLOCK

Exactly! Therion would be a KILLER headliner.
They're recording a new album in 2009 and touring will be for 2010. But who knows? Maybe they can be convinced to do this one show at the end of 2009.

Only if they bring Lori Lewis with them, she is the best soprano they had (i'm talking vocal-wise) *nerd*

I believe the 3rd edition had much more bigger bands
Lacuna Coil/After Forever/Epica/Leaves Eyes

Now that's what I call positive news: Today I received an e-mail from Bergtatt that they will send in their application as soon as they've got some new pictures and that they would like to play at this festival. OK, that still doesn't mean they will actually play, since this decision is up to the organizers of the festival, but at least they will try.

Not with Stolen Babies, since I don't know how to contact them, but recently I pm-ed Odd on Madder Mortem's forum again to remind him that they should send in their stuff, if they'd like to play at this festival. Unfortunately, he hasn't replied yet. Maybe they are still busy with the new album, which is already overdue.

Whyzdom was obvious (winners of the warm up last year, quite good I think, heard some songs, not bad), Midnattsol was a bit expected too since they couldn't perform last year, so YEEY, they are back ^^
But then, ugh, folk... I personally hate folk, it's like, come on all, let's dance -_-

Btw, I too think MFVF3 was the one with most good bands! AF, Epica AND Lacuna Coil on one day... That was simply FALUBLOUS! Leaves' Eyes too, note that they performed on the side stage and as the 9th or 10th band on the list (out of let's say 13) so not that high (yeah there were 2 stages back then) and then 2 years later they came back suddenly on main stage and as headliner?? Still don't understand it (on he other hand, out of all MFVF5 names, who else except Epica could headline, so maybe it does make sense Razz ).

Leaves' Eyes as explained before was a special guest, with a big show. Impossible to place them at another place.
But in fact, they didn't disappoint people I think Wink
At MFVF3 they finally played as headliner on side stage (instead playing on the big one, in the middle).

Folk : some like, other dislike ... well take time to have a drink, eat at that moment.
Booking different style is important, otherwise you'll be bored to always see "gothic metal" bands Laughing

Note that it's really hard to build a good line up with all these bands taking a break Rolling Eyes
Hoping now that AF will be back ...
