I noticed that quite a lot of people are very enthusiast about Diablo Swing Orchestra ( DSO)
It is a group I didn't knew before. I have listend 2 of their albums ( The Butcher's Ballroom and Sing Along Songs ....), and I must say that I am NOT enthusiastic at all. I find DSO more a group for a jazz festival: much jazzy influences , a lot of copper instruments and kind of 'Big Band music'. ( sorry for the fans)
I agree with that.
Yesterday I have seen the Webcast of a Epica gig in Milwaukee. One of the support acts was Urn from Chicago (Illinois). A good show. This will be a good band for MFVF8. But it may be, that the vocal part by Sophia is too small.

And what about SoP ?
Why should they lie about it ?

It seems that their booker has misunderstood something.
SOP will be booked on some MFVF Roadshow date, that point is right, but not on the festival itself.
We will add more info about the Roadshow asap.
(dates, bands, countries etc ...)

Probably soon.
Booking of the headliners is the main objective now.

I have no problem with late announcemnets. Far from it! It's funny to guess, which band was announced as headliner.

Yes, when it's confirmed from our side, it's funny ...
but when you are waiting to know if a band is available or not ... not funny Sad
It seems that a lot still make a break in 2010, and told that 2011 could maybe work.

OK. This is a big problem. Nightwish take a break this. Anette and Marco will work in their solo projects. Within Temptation work in the studio for new album. They will do a few unplugged gigs in dutch theatres. I think Tarya also will produce a new album. But Lacuna Coil is now on tour in Europe. Epica tours in US and Canada. Evanescence also work for new album, that should be out in fall 2010. And I also heard, they are not "camera friendly".

Yes, it's true that Evanescence is not camera friendly. I saw them two years ago and it was forbidden to take cameras inside.
And when the security saw a flashlight during the concert, they took them out of the audience.

Lacuna Coil don't want to come to MFVF...

cause its too gothic for them, as they said after MFVF3
But since there arent many headliners I would be interested in seeing them
even Tristania
